Dr. McVearry, a technology executive and lupus patient, developed the Bento methodology to increase participating in clinical trials and genomic research across underrepresented patient populations. She is the interim CEO, board chair and lead investor of Bento Biology. She previously led turnaround for Ekagra software, achieving market penetration for Janus CTR, which became the FDA standard for regulatory review of clinical trial data from the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to founding The Hypatia Group, Dr. McVearry served as an executive at Northrop Grumman Health Information Systems, where she was responsible for strategy, acquisitions, and DNA exploitation programs for precision medicine. Before joining the private sector, she conducted neuropharmacology and pharmacovigilance research as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, where her team’s prenatal drug exposure studies resulted in the FDA relabeling Valproate as unsafe during pregnancy. Dr. McVearry has served on numerous national boards and currently serves on the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS) Advisory Council, appointed by HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. She served as Inaugural Chair of Lupus Therapeutics of the Lupus Research Alliance, helping stand up the Lupus Clinical Investigators Network (LuCIN), a national collaborative clinical trial network.
